A-Team of Executives with experience in their areas or industries in order to establish the credibility and (especially for pre-funding startups) to get their initial funding.
YES Partners firmly believes that even a company with a B-Product can be very successful with an A-Team, but a company simply having an A-Product does not automatically guarantee a success with (only) a B-Team.
Forming a Start-up Team
When forming a Start-up-team, it is important that the team has complementing skillsets, i.e. it is not important who does what, but it is crucial that someone in the team has the knowledge and understanding of the different functions of the company (Vision, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Management, Operations, Development & R&D)
Founders of Start-ups are usually coming more from the technical side (Engineers) and therefore need more the business experience.
